Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide (ACCESS)

Access connects Alabama classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide (ACCESS) project. It is a distance learning program that uses, interactive video-conferencing technology connecting all teachers with students in different parts of the State of Alabama. ACCESS originally started out with 24 pilot locations in 2006, and has grown to 170+ ACCESS learning labs, including at least one in every county.

This program provides support for
1) educators, improves teacher development, improves quality of school facilities
throughout the state,
2) improves student achievement in reading, math and science, expands the institutions
of learning.

MathType, Grammatical, Discovery Education, HippoCampus, are some some of the software available on ACCESS.

We definitely must continue to go forward with programs such as ACCESS.

I believe every child in our educational systems must have access to computers in the classroom.

  1. If you get a chance, visit an ACCESS classroom. Just call and see if you can make an appointment.
